Kappa presents a new collection for spring-summer 2017: "Kappa Kontroll". A label that takes its name from the origin of the brand, born in 1956 almost by chance. At that time, Maglificio Calzificio Torinese produced socks and underwear for the Aquila brand: an old name, born in the 1920s, which had to be changed; but how? The answer came thanks to a stock of failed stockings, distributed by mistake. The customers returned the goods to the shopkeepers, the shopkeepers at the factory. For the first time in 40 years, the company's good reputation, born in 1916, was at risk. The president of the company had the subsequent productions labeled with a K printed on the box, accompanied by the word KONTROLL: a way to guarantee the quality of the products. The market appreciated. He began to ask "the socks with the Kappa". And from a mistake the brand was born. Sixty years later, this is the first "Kappa Kontroll" collection, which reinterprets some of the iconic clothing items from the early 1980s, when Kappa changed positions and became an international sport brand. First brand in Italy to sponsor a football team, Juventus (1980). First Italian brand to dress the US National Athletics Championship at the Olympics (1984). Hence the first two "Kappa Kontroll" capsules, both the result of a creative research in the brand's history.
